I have just bought some new batteries for the TX and RX. I've just realised that they are not NiCads they are Ni-MH.

Can I still use my old charger? It has an output of 9.6V 0.5VA and 4.8V 0.25VA

Ni cad chargers fine
main difference is they like to be fast charged just under 1C ie 1.5amps for 1800 mAh and cycles are not really necessary
that my take anyway

Thanks Allen. Can you recommend a good quick charger?

I use this http://bantam301.20m.com/301dx.htm  it does just about everthing at a budget price

you will need at power supply though if you dont have one
if you shop around it ranges fron £40 to £60

but you can get others that run on 240v for the same money

they can do Lipos which are the new batteries mainly for electric
nicads, nihms, led acid. and it will do cycles from 1-5 ie discharge and recharge
and very simple to use

Thanks. I've slow charged them on my old charger for now (hopefully).

Time to bite the bullet and have a go at flying. I'm a bit nervous after a 10 year break.
