2011/2012 Southern F3F Winter League

League R1 13th November 2011,

Eastbourne

We had a great turn out and the weather was almost unbelievable for the time of the year
Unfortunately the forecast of 12-14mph South East was more like 8-10 mph East South East
This made for a very challenging competition for the less experienced (me).
But all in all a good day was had by all.

Meon Valley

First impressions on arrival was a serious lack of wind but after further investigation it appeared to be more of a direction issue rather than a wind speed issue, after a slow start we made our way over to the north slope but by the time we go there the wind had shifted to the west, we set up on the west face at the back of the north bowl, the first few round were fine with conditions holding, but as we reached the end of the third the conditions seemed to be getting lighter and barely legal at times, by the fourth round it was clear that the comp had come to a close. Thanks to John Phillips for a VERY professionally run competition and to all that attended.
